They know that their niche is very competitive in Australia, especially for the presence of international manufacturers along with national, well-established companies, both competing for air conditioning keywords.

The main challenge for a startup air conditioning company in Australia is clear. The niche has very high competition. When Hello Breeze started working locally in the Melbourne area, well-known national and international brands have strong first positions in Google Search Results. To gain a foothold against these competitors not only can take time but a great deal of resources.

Strategy that works

The first step was to assess the current situation of Hello Breeze, compared to its main competitors, and build a strategy to “bridge the gap”.

The key point of the strategy focused on:

  • Creating focused and a wide variety of content to increase targeted traffic
  • Generating backlinks to increase DA (Domain Authority), which will boost the content trusted status
  • Growing GMB to generate leads and calls

At the beginning of our collaboration, we focused on correcting technical issues, making sure the website was optimized for SEO.  We SEO optimized all the existing pages as well as reorganising the website structure for a better navigation experience.Once all these foundations were in place, we were ready to implement the strategy.

Content strategy

The competitive analysis showed us that the competitors have much more high-quality content. This was definitely the primary focus of our strategy.

We performed in-depth keyword research and discovered several opportunities to rank keywords according to high buy intent and lower competition.

The goal was to boost positions of “value pages” in Google Search Results that are driving the most targeted traffic, contributing to revenue generation.The results are astonishing.

One of our main focus pages saw a spike of organic traffic from 123 to 15,580 users on a 6 monthly basis.

The number of keywords Hello Breeze ranked in Google for skyrocketed from 1,300 to 4,100 (+2,800). Our highly effective strategy boosted the number of keywords in the top 3 positions (which are the most lucrative) from 7 to 94 (+87) keywords.

Overall, the organic traffic of Hello Breeze jumped +340% from 5,100 users to 22,480 a 6-monthly basis.

Therefore, by creating stellar quality content, we ensured that organic targeted traffic soared, which is especially beneficial to a young start-up like Hello Breeze.

Backlink Strategy

Another major gap between Hello Breeze and the competitors is its “reputation”, which Google represents by a Domain Rating number on a scale of 0 to 100.

To increase our chance to rank for keywords in the top positions, we had to grow the Domain Rating. To do so we needed to obtain more backlinks to reinforce the Google trusted status.To generate high-quality links, we are using only white hat techniques by contacting hundreds of websites a month to ensure not only strong connections, which offers the opportunity to guest post  but by the sheer quality of our content, the creation of multiple organic backlinks. 

Indeed, in the 6-month period we generated 117 backlinks, which played a decisive role in growing the Domain Rating from 6 to 21 (+15) AND even more in boosting our content and increasing organic traffic.

Google My Business

Another vital piece of the puzzle for any local company is Google My Business. This allows users to organically find your business in an area using Google Maps, facilitating a direct call or booking. an appointment, a real cash cow.
